“Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world of one person.”
At first glance, this simple sentence may seem modest, almost understated. In a world that often celebrates large-scale achievements and sweeping impact, it reminds us of something quieter, yet profoundly meaningful: the power of individual acts of care.
Rotary is built on this very principle. While we speak of global initiatives, large-scale programs, and measurable outcomes, the true essence of what we do often lies in moments that are less visible. A conversation that restores hope. A gesture that brings dignity. A presence that reassures someone they are not alone.
We may not always witness the full ripple of our actions. We may never know how far a single act of kindness travels, or how deeply it is felt. Yet for the person on the receiving end, that moment can alter the course of their day, their outlook, or even their life.
This is perhaps the quiet beauty of service. It is not always visible, often unfolding quietly, and is not always acknowledged as it should be in recognition of its full value. But it leaves an imprint, sometimes small, sometimes transformative, in the life of another.
As we continue our work, it is worth remembering that impact is not only measured in scale, but in sincerity. Each effort, however modest it may seem, carries within it the potential to change a world, someone’s world.
And that is no small thing.■

Chinese New Year Fellowship and Fundraising Evening
The Club’s Chinese New Year dinner on March 2 was marked by a warm spirit of fellowship and a strong sense of purpose. The evening featured a successful fundraising initiative in support of the President Elect’s main project: dementia caregiver training in Singapore homes.
Through a lively auction and a well-supported raffle draw, members and friends contributed generously, reflecting both enthusiasm and commitment to the cause. The event combined celebration with meaningful action, reinforcing the Club’s shared dedication to service.
Thanks to this collective effort, an important step has been taken toward supporting caregivers and improving the quality of care for those living with dementia.
On the same occasion of the Chinese New Year Dinner, RCQ also celebrated the 53rd anniversary of the Club. It was a moment of both festivity and reflection, bringing together members to mark more than five decades of fellowship, service, and shared commitment to Rotary’s ideals.
The weekly dinner meeting on Monday, March 9, was hosted by President Marcel. The highlight of the evening was the induction of Augustin Fiala. The program also featured a presentation by President Elect Shikha on the Rotary Foundation and the impact of its work on communities around the world.

The evening’s speaker, Mr. Richard Eu, Non-Executive Chairman of Eu Yan Sang International Pte. He traced the origins of the business to his grandfather, Eu Kong, a tin mining entrepreneur who, in 1879, established a medicine shop to care for his opium-dependent tin mine workers.
From these humble beginnings, the enterprise has evolved across generations into a leading consumer healthcare and wellness company, distinguished by its unique heritage in Traditional Chinese Medicine and guided by its core values: Tradition, Trust, and Innovation.
