A Season of Renewal

As our regular meetings paused for the Chinese Spring Festival, the rhythm of the club gently slowed. Yet this moment of stillness is far from empty. This year, it carries a special resonance: the Spring Festival coincides with the 51st anniversary of the creation of RCQ, an auspicious meeting of renewal and continuity.

Chinese New Year is often associated with colour, lanterns, and celebration, but at its heart it is a season of return: return to shared tables, to stories quietly passed on, to bonds renewed. It speaks of family, not only the one we are born into, but the one we build over time through presence, care, and shared purpose.

This spirit has guided RCQ from its earliest days. Founded on the belief that service is strongest when anchored in friendship, the club has grown over more than five decades through constancy rather than spectacle. Our projects, whether supporting caregivers, standing alongside local communities, or advancing initiatives that call for patience more than applause, echo the quiet preparations of the New Year. Their impact unfolds gradually, shaped by trust, perseverance, and a long view. What endures is not visibility, but meaning.

At the heart of this continuity lies RCQ’s true hallmark: fellowship. The ease with which friendships take root, the warmth that flows across cultures and generations, and the camaraderie that sustains us in service. In a club as diverse as ours, traditions may differ, but the values that unite us, that is service, generosity, mutual respect, and friendship remain steadfast.

As we enter the Year of the Horse, a symbol of strength, vitality, and forward momentum, we are reminded that progress is carried by steady movement and collective spirit. The horse evokes endurance, loyalty, and the courage to advance with purpose, qualities that resonate deeply with our journey as a club. It is through shared commitment, quiet determination, and confidence in one another that we continue to move forward together.

Fifty-one years on, RCQ continues its journey, carrying forward its founding spirit, enriched by those who have shaped it, and gently opening space for what comes next. When service is rooted in fellowship, it does more than endure: it renews itself, season after season.

 Monday February 2, 2026

The weekly dinner meeting of 2 February 2026 was chaired by President Marcel, who warmly welcomed members and guests before sharing updates and announcements concerning both club and district matters.

Our speaker for the evening was Daryl Toh, Executive Director of FRCS AAC. He engaged the assembly with the story of his professional journey, beginning with 18 years of service in the Singapore Armed Forces, including nine years in the submarine unit. After nearly two decades in the military, he made a purposeful career transition into community service.

Our weekly dinner meeting on Monday, 9 February, was presided over by President Marcel, who warmly welcomed members and guests before sharing updates on upcoming club events and initiatives.

The evening’s speaker was PP Jeyan, District Vocational Service Chair. His talk, titled “Leveraging Our Vocations to Help Communities,” invited us to reflect on how our professional expertise can be meaningfully channelled in service of others. His message resonated strongly with Rotary’s enduring commitment to Vocational Service as a cornerstone of our mission.

Among the guests present that evening was PP Yeo Tian Swee, whose presence added to the warmth and fellowship of the gathering.

Below are some moments captured from the evening.

A Rotary Promise to the Children of the World

Under the banner Unite for Good, Rotary District 3310 reaffirms its unwavering commitment to a world free of polio.

As at 16 February 2026, the District’s PolioPlus Year-to-Date contribution stands at USD 69,795, a powerful testament to collective resolve. Even more inspiring, all 74 out of 74 clubs have participated in giving. A truly united front.

The Top 3 contributing clubs (Year to Date) are:

Together, we are not just raising funds. We are safeguarding futures.
